Patrolling Gotham, one evening, Batman spots Catwoman robbing, coming from a high-tech building and chases her, catching her and taking her to Blackgate. A couple weeks later, Captain Gordon contacts Batman to inform him of an explosion at Blackgate, as well as multiple hostages held by the now free inmates. This dejecting prison has become partioned in to about three primary territories, Joker, Penguin and Black Mask. After coming into the actual dejecting prison, Batman encounters Catwoman, who informs him of hostages held inside the maximum security area of the prison, known as the Arkham Wing. Catwoman also tells him that Joker has cut the air flow to the wing, leaving the hostages with minimal air.
